Beginning in December and ending in February, winter season lasts about six to eight weeks.

The days are cool and daylight is short. Frost and freezes occur during this period. Watch the weather forecast for frost and freeze warnings, and take measures to protect frost sensitive plants.

Continue to plant cool season vegetables. Lettuces, Greens, Broccoli – lots of choices.

Begin harvesting citrus. Taste for ripeness, and enjoy.
